Help, cut a hole in my gas tank. What is a good patch?

Dude, bite the bullet and buy a new gas tank... this thing holds your fuel... which is flammable and flames can hurt your Charger especially if it gets engulfed in them.

Buy a new tank.

The epoxy will hold it long enough to save a few bucks up for a new tank. I too would eventually get a new tank but it doesn't have to be done right away. Just put $35/mo. aside for the next five months and come February or March you can buy a new tank and get it installed just in time for the summer shows.

Before I put a new tank in the Challenger, I had a leak and was calling junk yards trying to find a Challenger tank (this was the late 90s) The guy at the scrap yard said they had no challengers in the yard, and asked what was wrong with my tank?  I told him it was leaking.  He said brieng it in and let him look at it.  After looking at it he said" I can weld it up for $20 but you can't tell anyone and no reciept.  I was a little leary but he did a good job.  It held gas until I replaced it during restoration.  I even sold the old tank at Monster Mopar about 5 years ago.  So there are people out there that will do it, but at least this guy diddn't want his boss knowing he was!

radiators guys are able to fix it... they did on mine 8 years ago, and will do when I remove the gas tank again soon for the new leak fix. As I stated epoxy works good as a temporally fix.

I just went through this with my cj5. It was rusted inside and started getting pinholes in the lowest corner of the tank. I did some research and found to clean it up with a muriatic acid then they make sealant kits that you slosh around inside to coat the tank. You'll be into a $125 tank for $70.

But the bottom line is just get it welded for $20 or spend the $125 for a brand new one.
