'70 K-frame- BB or sb

Hello all.  Can someone plz tell me the size difference on a SB K-frame and a BB K-frame for a '70 charger?  The car originally had a 383.  I'm trying to put a 440 but was told I needed the bigger K-frame.  I don't have the 440 yet so I can't measure it but I'm assuming the motor mounts won't fit..  anyone know for sure?

If your car has a 383? thats a BB! and the same K member fits both a 383 and 440

If your Charger is an orignal 383 car you don't need a new k-member. The 440 will bolt right in!

Well that's a relief.  I guess I got some bad info somewhere.  Thanks guys for the quick reply.

V8 K-members are different since 73 between SB and BB. Earliers are the same.

what is true is better upgrade T bars and Sway bar for Heavy Duty ones

Yeah, that's the issue.  The various Mopar K-frames were set up different ways. 

Some years had separate K-frames for SB and BB. 
Other years used the same basic K-frame with just different engine mounts bolted onto it.

The '68-70 Chargers all had the same V8 wedge K-frames from 318 to 440.  Just different motor mounts bolted onto them. 
Only the 426 Hemis and the slant-6 engines got their own unique K-frames during those years.

Yeah, you're right.  I just said "68-70 Chargers" because the guy was asking about a 1970 Charger, and people tend to mentally group these cars by their bodystyle generations more than anything else.  Whereas the 3rd-generation Chargers had multiple setups depending on the year.
