Correct Engine Orange?

I've got a 69 charger that I am putting a 440 in.  I want to paint the engine the correct engine orange for 69.  In researching this I have found out the following:
Mopar has marketed several orange spray paints.  The 2007 Restoration Parts Source Book lists P4120751 called Race Hemi Orange Engine Paint (1964, 65 & 68 Race Hemi); P4349216 called Street Hemi Orange Engine Paint (1966-71); and P5007733 called Hemi Restoration Orange Engine Paint (66-71 Street Hemi).  I have read on other posts here that the P4349216 is supposedly the right one and that it used to come in a can with a Orange cap but has been changed to a blue and white can with an AB suffix on the part number and is now made in Canada----supposedly a slightly different shade.
Then there is Dupli-Color Chrysler Orange, #DE1622.  And Duplicolor Chevrolet Orange, #DE1620 (supposedly the Dukes of Hazzard color). And Plasti-kote Orange #HP-15 hi-temp engine paint (my friend found this at Tractor Supply and swears it's the correct color---note that Tractor Supply is discontinuing this but you can order it---nobody else besides Carquest seems to have it).  And Plasti-kote Orange #2210 mentioned by someone in another post.

Finally, a post on EBAY said about the P4349216 (old formulation and no longer available) that it was used on 426 engines between 66-71 as well as high performance 383 & 440 engines between 69-71 and 340's for 70 & 71.

So what is the right one to use?  From what I have seen, it looks like the current MOPAR P4349216AB would be correct.  I have heard it doesn't spray well---kind of watery.  So would any of the Duplicolor or Plastikote products be the same shade?  I have a feeling they would be a heck of a lot cheaper.  I know you can get the Duplicolor stuff at Oreilly and Walmart.  And the guy at Tractor Supply said he could order the Plastikote HP-15 for me---single cans or cases of 6.

Looks like I stumped the panel on this one.  I have done some experiments on my own with the Plasti-kote product, the two Duplicolor products and the Street Hemi Orange--P4349216.  The first three do not look like the Street Hemi Orange.  So I think it is the right color.  I sprayed some on the back of a tin can and a friend took it down to the local auto paint place and they matched it.  Looks real good to me and I think the paint they have is probably superior to that stuff Mopar sells.  So that's what he and I are going to use on our engines.

Orange paint shades.  At the Dukes/GL message boards we've absolutely beaten this topic TO DEATH.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The "Hemi Orange" paint shade that they sprayed on the engines is NOT the same shade of orange as the Hemi Orange/Tor-Red paint shade that the factory sprayed on the car bodies.  (It's not just a technicality of the paint batches, or the spraying preparation, or something.  It's two legitimately different colors.)

The engine-paint "Hemi" is roughly like the Plasti-Kote stuff.
The body-paint "Hemi" has more red pigment in it.

Here's the order from the most reddish, to the most yellowish:

1.  Mopar "Hemi Orange/Tor-Red" body paint

2.  Chevrolet "Hugger Orange"

3.  Mopar "Hemi Orange" engine enamel

Hey Mike DC-----The color you identify as Hemi Orange Engine Paint (top row--middle) is the same as the Mopar P4349216.

I was aware that the body color orange and the engine orange were two different shades but I appreciate you noting that.

My last experiment is to go to O'reillys as they carry the VHT line of high temp/engine paints and pick up a can of their Chrysler Hemi Orange Engine Enamel (550 degrees)  to see what shade it is.  That's VHT part number SP-120.  Hopefully, it they don't have it in stock they can order it for me.  If it's the same shade it would be cheaper than having it mixed locally and put in a can at $20/can and buying the Mopar stuff that doesn't spray too good.  I'd have to order it too.  I think it goes for around $10 per can from Mopar.  Not exactly sure what the VHT sells for but I think it's less than $10/can.  Probably crazy doing all of this but I just like to figure little things like this out.

My friend Wayne graciously lent me his can of the new Street Hemi Orange from Mopar, Part Number 4349216AB.  I have now compared it to the old 4349216  (without the AB) and can say that they are not the same shade.  I have tried several other street hemi oranges and the one that is closest to the new Mopar 4349216AB is, oddly enough, Dupli-Color number 1652 called Chrysler Hemi Orange.  None of the colors I have tested is the same as the 4349216.  This was the previous street hemi orange that Mopar had that came in the can with the orange plastic cap.  I think this is the right one.  Wayne carried a tin can down to Autocolor that had the bottom painted with this paint and they mixed some that was dead on.  The only bad part is they charge $20 to mix and put it in a spray can.  I plan on going with this.
