Get some plumb bobs take the tires off and tape the string on the bobs where you want the measurement and you got it.

Moparhound,  Do you have the same info for a Dana 60.  I thought the were the same width but apparently not.

The Dana 60 bare housing width and overall width is the same as the 8 3/4" for the same year/body.
