"MAJOR PLUS. i do have a mint roof section that can be cut off of a donor car for additional $$ if winning bidder wants."

So why don't you just do it istead of selling it. The '69 I used to have was a 383 4spd car too. If I would of known when I sold it, there was only 3,500 made, I wouldn't of sold it. :rotz:

Just like my '74 Rallye I had, 1 of 92 made with the 360 4spd combo. I didn't know they were that rare until I joined D-C.com. :rotz: :brickwall:

lol i knew the roof would freak people out. when i went to look at it, the guy said.. well the roof has some rust, it will probably need a new roof.. but NOTHING can prepare you for seeing THAT in person. i almost fell over. i have never seen one anywhere near that bad. what freaked me out more is the floors and frame are mint. yes i know it's 1 of 3500 or so, that's why it's on ebay. i don't have the resources to do a car that complicated(quarters, roof etc..) i have too many projects as is.. so i figured someone out there would appreciate it more.. i do have the fender tag, i'll get the codes off it this afternoon and post them on here. i think it was a console car as well, and no i did not steal it out of it

I disagree.   Replacing the roof isn't THAT hard for an experienced body guy.   Considering it's a 383/4 speed car with all of the 4 speed stuff intact and the car is pretty straight and solid, someone that knows what they're doing could fix it right up.   At the bare minimum find a donor shell and swap the stuff over.   You could get 4k out of the parts on that car.

I agree. The top can be relaced by a good body man. Someone up my way did this recently. A tree landed on a '69 R/T, so they went to the junkyard, bought the whole top and trunk area/quarter shelves and now it is in the process of being restored. It is doable. Maybe not cheap, but no resto is cheap.

That is so weird that the roof would be that rotted out and the floor and frame be fine, I'd think that water would've gotten inside and rotted the floors then the frame.

thats what happenes when you have a leaky roof. same thing happened to my cousin he parked a mint(well maybe not so mint) toyota truck a few years back down south at his grandmas house came back a few years later to find a small hole in the roof

this roof did not happen from water leakage.. in 1972-73 the roof was dyed from white to black and from what the owner said.. the chemicals in the dye ate the roof up over the years.. if the roof had gotten THAT rotten from water/moisture, there is no doubt in my mind there would also be no floors and probably front frame as well.. so the theory makes sense to me...
