Bummer. I hope it works out well for you Nacho. Try Moparts too. There's got to be someone close to Lapel, IN that can help.

did check we the local FEDex and UPs and they say that it is possible to ship them, It'll be expensive, very expensive.  Check your pm for the estimates.  They also both have depots from which they ship that are with in minutes from my house.  Hope this helps some.

My email:

Hi, I'm calling from Venezuela. really need help on this.

Recently won on ebay a quarter panel to 1974 dodge Charger. Panel is located at 9148 State Road 38 West Lapel, IN. 46051 and need to be shipped to Miami Florida 33172. Dimensions of quarters are 90" x 42" x 12". Dunno really the weight, but don't think too much. Here pic of panel:

http://i4.ebayimg.com/01/i/000/ae/43/9c3a_1.JPG

Would wish to get a quote of that shipping. I'm not really worried about shipping time, I don't care if I does take 2 days or one week, or week and a half just that be shipped cheaper as posible since will be internationally shipped after arrives to Miami. I think it would be to be shipped by seller or another friend of mine on dodgecharger.com Board to your headquarter in Indianapolis but still not sure about that.

Please, need an answer ASAP to get paid the quarter once I be sure can it be shipped. Maybe your website carries quote calculation section, but dunno how to drive on it.

Thanks.
Nacho.

Hi!

Based on the information given, and basing your rate on 150 lbs, your rate estimate would be $401.23 from Lapel to Miami.  That does not include any accessorial fees for services such as residential pickup / delivery, call for appointment, lift gate, etc.

Thanks!

I hate to say it but you might be better off to resell it and get a pair of skins.  I just think its going to cost a lot in the end, I dont know how much is too much but it could be more than its worth to you.

Nacho-RT74

to get the skins, preffer cut the quarter like a skin below the upper body line, or kinda... but really don't want to.

Hey, thinking on this... a quarter doesn't get even close to 150 lbs... maybe on 70-80 lbs rate as much... Am I alright ? is just a skin, not a heavy frame. I'm carried Dart GTs NOS quarters once on a Mopar dealer shop

and measured the quarter on my car... barelly arrives to 81" on top end, from quarter opening window to rear end... can somebody confirm this ?

i don't know but it won't save you any $$ if it is 70 pounds. their rate is based on an "up to 150 pounds"i'm pretty sure. aftewr that the rate would be higher.. keep checking i know diesel is kinda high but i can't imagine you spending over 200-250 to have it shipped to miami

Yea, at this point I'd suggest you contact some dispatchers along the east coast somewhere and see about having it added to a larger load on a truck or car hauler as long as someone can crate it up for you.

Nacho-RT74

dunno any distpachers ?

Quarter is enough get it wrapped with cardboard and then plastic foam or envelope like modern body pieces. Any bend or dented area can be easily straightened.

I would rather pay more for a crate myself. Modern body panels are common and where you gonna find one like this for the price?

I wish I lived between the quarter panel and Miami, but I'm in central Canada. We need to organize an underground quarter panel railroad and get members to meet every 100 miles or so to pass on the panel. It could be a great adventure for sure, wish I could be part of it. Nacho, I hope this can happen for you.

Nacho-RT74

hahaha... really that would be funny.

I'm already worried about how to ship on original size so can you imagine with a crate ? I'm already telling to seller bend a little bit some areas that would make get 81". Those areas can be easily straightened or even cut. I mean the area that meets with rocker panel, below door and the lip that hiddes down the bumper, where bumper filler is.

Hey nacho, just checked with my girl friend's dad who works for fedex freight and he said to try them because they haul anything that can be pulled by a truck.  They will carry a package up to 28 feet long and 10 feet high.  He said your quarter would probably run 200-350 just to miami and depends on the exact wieght and if they have to package it.  It must also be prepaid.  Let me know if I can do anything else to help.
