My friends 69 has had a bad gas gauge for years last night I tried to rig my spare 70 gauge into the car.  When I switched on the power the gauge shot past full.  Question is - was there a design change between 1969 and 1970???  I have had the tank sender out and it looks good could I have a short in the wire from the tank?  Thanks for any help.

The 69 and 70 fuel gauges are interchangeable.  If the other gauges work okay then I would check the wire to the sending unit to see if it's shorted to ground.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

It does that when the gas tank is full also. :icon_smile_big:
