Check Moulding Removal

To remove the check moulding:

is it the three nuts running along the inside of the trunk?

If so, what size are the nuts to remove. My screws are long and access is tight and tried a few sizes without success! Saw a set on ebay and kind of looked like it was a emblem type unthreaded post with nut attached?

Anything I need to watch to avoid scratching the paint or damaging the moulding when removing?

Taking it in to get re-chromed.

Thanks, in advance

I found it was easier for me to remove the whole vinyl top trim pieces together than to try and get the check pieces off separately.
