Probably no such thing as safety standards in China...  but they have all our money now so they can buy some feds to sign off on it.  They can probably pay off Consumer Reports and Car and (import) Driver magazine too.
If it's $cheap$ enough there's idiots that will buy them - that's been proven time and time again.

My job is inspecting cars that were involved in crashes. Looks like there is ZERO crash-worthiness of that car.
