96 xj coils

So Im installing the 3in lift kit on my xj and was wondering if anyone had tips on getting the old coils out and the new ones in? The spring compressor I rented is junk... Its one of those go in the middle type that work like shit. Gotta slide the threaded rod in side the spring and screw it down.. Problem is you cant get it in the bloody spring...


So any tips i can use to get the spring out and the new 3in ones in.
