im wondering if anyone knows where to get correct oil pump bolts for a 77' 318HD motor at a parts store? I think mine are the wrong ones and when i turn the motor over the pump moves causing the dist. gear to squeak in the bushing.

When you say the pump moves do you mean it wobbles on the main cap like the bolts are too long and bottomed out? If so, try a washer under the bolt heads.

If the pump intermediate shaft squeaks in the bushing, chances are it's a new bushing that was never properly sized. A special tool is needed to install the bushing.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
