I am looking at buying a 69 R/T Charger that has a 68 grill how hard is it to change back, how much, and are factory repo parts readily available? Many thanks for any help. By the way I have a 69 numbers matching R/T with original paint for sale and a 68 R/T  for sale. 415 216 9206

It isn't too difficult and yes, they do make a repro grille.  I don't know the cost but I know they aren't cheap.  I'm sure if you do a search , you'll turn up a few threads on them.

The grille swap can be done with just hand tools.  But be aware that this swap will demand a lot of the grille's surrounding trim pieces (and a '69 center "I" piece) as well as just the large plastic grille center section itself.

I think there's finally some new '69 grilles for sale now, but you'd have to check into those things before assuming you're golden.
(I don't think there are any quality gripes about the new ones.  But they've been "coming soon" for a long time and I don't know whether the buyers are actually getting them into their hands yet or not.)

It'll probably cost many hundreds of dollars by the time you're done, but the wrong-year grille issue alone shouldn't talk you out of a '69 car that you're otherwise interested in buying.  Compared to buying a car with a few extra rust holes, this is small potatoes.
