When I first started on the restification of my charger, I was 27 and all I wanted to do was go fast and look cool.  Now I am 37 with all the things that come with it.  wife/mortgage/kids/endless work hours, etc... still want to look cool, but need a little more comfort for the family.

In the last 2 years I have slowly transformed my charger from a hot street machine to a good cruiser.  As a result, I am driving it more now than ever.  toned down exhaust a bit, firm feel box, etc...

Now, more good things are happening to me in this car than ever before.  We all know about the endless thumbs up you get when you drive one of these in any condition.  Today, I drove it to work and a woman who owns the local eatery across the street comes over and asks whose car it is.  I came out and we talked for a while and it turns out she had one years ago and has some parts.  A hood, and some other stuff.  and her friend made the chrysler white logo vin stamp years ago and she has it too.

Thing is that I go there every day for coffee and we always say hi to each other.  If I did not drive that car to work today, I may have never gotten the line on these parts.  Plus the chance to talk to someone who is not yelling at me for something during my work day.

Sounds like you should drive it to work more often. Who knows, maybe someone will come up to & say "I've got one just like that I'd like to get rid of...except it's got a pointy nose & a big wing..." :o
That's about how the conversation went way back when, when I wore my Charger shirt to work one day. :icon_smile_approve: I wish I could have afforded it. :-\

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Im building mine to drive but its going to be hard on gas, so I probably will only get to drive it once or twice a week.  Thats about right though...

If I had the money to, i'd buy a nice small block car just to drive any day of the week.

Mine our drivers, some times I wish I had a trailor queen, but only until I am on the road getting the looks.  Does anyone else watch faces to see who is checking out your ride?

:iagree:
I drive mine just about everyday. I cant help looking at peoples reactions as I drive by. Its just so cool to see their faces. We drove it to the gas station last nite and some chick runs up to me and asks if she can take some pics. After about 5 pics she gives me the thumbs up and drives away. That was pretty cool. :yesnod:

That's funny, we do a local cruise night on Thursday and this past Thursday I was whining about going and my wife asked why.  I told her it was because we don't do any actual cruising and it should be renamed parking night.  I went based on her argument that you get to drive it there and back.  She was right of course.

That's actually not a bad point. You'd think cruise nights would involve a pack of cool old cars cruising together for a bit, from one point to another. I suppose the 'cruise' part of cruise night in mose cases, just means the actual act of driving there & back. ::)

I've always loved the driving to and from shows more than the shows.  I don't participate in as many shows as I used to.  It just gets old sitting behind your car all day and answering all the same old questions.  It's much more fun going down the road counting all the thumbs up, pointing fingers and smiling faces that the car creates.  I've often thought how cool it would be to hear all the comments in the other cars on the road that the car causes.  Bob

speaking of answering the questions, invariably some know it all also comes up and proceeds to tell you all the shit that's wrong with your ride.

We have a group of Mopars that all meet to go to the shows together. It is awesome to see the heads turn when people see 1 , then 2 , then 3 , etc Mopars cruise by. It is fun to go in group and we always take a couple laps on the local circuit just to stir the ricers up.   :2thumbs: :drive:

There's no way I can leave my car sitting for so long...my Charger is my alternate daily driver. Who are you guys keeping the car nice for some unknown future owner? You only live once so get out and drive!!! Insure it like a regular car not like it's painting!!!   :coolgleamA:

I have only two insured now and it is no more than 250 a year. One is insurred for 10K and the other for 20K. Last year I had 3 insured for like just over 300 with another valued at 12K. You just can't go to walmart and leave the car unatended though. It has to be stored in a locked bldg. when you are not with it. Im sure your mostly safe at most shows so that shouldn't be an issue.
