Surprised the v8 isnt standard on the cop car.
Maybe those are the Meter Maid versions. :D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

i notice the mirrors have repeaters, (turn signals ala Mercedes Benzs) i feel ALL cars should have them as a saftey feature and wonder why more don't..  ???

Khyron

I hate to say this... but it looks good in uniform, and that magnum looks just plain bad ass.

I wonder how many of those you have to buy to get them, or if someone from the general public could buy one or a fleet at all?

Would be kind of cool getting a cop version of the new magnum sedan and removing all the badges so it looked sleek and like a real unmarked cop car, with that big push bar on the front and all the extra electrical equipment. I'd tint the windows real dark too.

it's too bad they didn't call the sedan the "Enforcer" now THAT would've been perfectly acceptable...  :yesnod:

I'm an evidence guy in my department.  Drive an Explorer right now.  Wouldn't mind a Magnum with all-wheel drive.

If stupid people fail to see the rear turn signals, their not gonna notice the little signals in the mirrors.

Ghoste

I very often find them a distraction.  I tend to try and watch taillights and overall traffic.  Every now and then I see one of those damn things blinking away and it isn't usually in a scenario that affects me.  That is to say, it may be a couple of lanes over and then I glance at that car instead of where I should be watching.  The times when it has been useful have been when someone was coming into my lane and the mirror blinker was the only signal available to my line of sight at the moment.  This really meant it was just a moron indicator because if he's coming into my lane and that's all I could see, he hasn't cleared me yet.  But it did save me in those cases.

Those things are annoying. Can the driver see them too? If so that's got to be fun having a bright red light flashing in your face after driving somewhere for three hours in the dark.

Brock Samson

Well i'm thinking that since the mirors are hanging out the sides of the damn car anyway,... and being located at the mid point of the car, they are far more obvious/visable,..
of course, if the nimrod drivers fail to use signals anyway (like at least 1/3 rd of the drivers who pull in front of me) they wouldn't make a damn bit of difference anyhow,.
BTW: those repeaters are angled in such a way that they don't flash the driver.
I just thought having a blinker there makes sense...

Stormhammer

I like the cop versions... but only v6? eh, maybe the interceptors will have the v8s?

on Strats note, I agree - they are useful - they're also more eye level and more easily noticable to oncoming traffic

and here in GA - NOBODY uses those damn turn signals, gah  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

Its gonna be pretty funny when these cars hit the street and some of the haters get "pulled over" and "Hassled by the Man". I can't wait to read those threads!   LOL! :D

I'd have to count myself as one of the haters but I don't think I'd seee it as getting hassled by the man.  More like verification that the car is a four door family sedan more suited to the utilitarian world of police work than trying to be the sexy styling and performance flagship of Dodge.
