69 Charger Dash Trim Over Glovebox

My 69 Charger was missing the original dash facia trim plate that mounts over the glovebox.  I was able to get a used one, but now am confused as to how it mounts.  It looks like the dash frame is only drilled for 4 of the plastic posts to go through it for the zip nuts to lock onto.  (3 across the top, and one on the lower right side).

Are all the lower plastic trim pegs supposed to rest on the metal frame surface to provide support?

There are no mounts on lower side, just a strip of foam to keep rattles away.

I now have three panels on hand.

Two of them both have the additional lower posts.  Both also originally came with the woodgrain treatment so have the slots open for the metal tabs from the metal backing panel for the woodgrain.  The plastic surface on both fronts is the pebbled normally seen on a 69 Charger.

The third one has a ribbed front surface for a 68 Charger.  This one did not have woodgrain, and does not even have the indents for the woodgrain panel.  However, it does have only four posts, and matches up with the dash frame holes.

I believe the dash frame to be original to my 69 Charger, as the vin tag matches the rest of the car, and the car has never been restored.  My Charger is an RT/SE so it should have come with the woodgrain panel.

I can cut the lower posts off, but would like to find out why I have this miss match first.

Any ideas?

Dont cut anything just yet. Is there a part number on the back of pce?The number from the pce I posted is 2927869.

The two with the lower posts both have the same number (2984772)  They also have the number 63388 stamped above the previous number.

The panel without the lower posts, the one from a 68, has the number (2857 594  63388).

2984772 is for a `70.The difference may be because the glove box opens the opposite way.I never had the two side by side.If you are adding the woodgrain then modify it to work but first ,try holding it in place a see how the glove box fits.
Another option is someone might need the 70 and you can trade for a 69.

Thanx for the info.  Everything on the rest of the panels is the same, so I'll probably just cut off the lower posts.
