Next is to order the rear end, leaf springs and wheels.  I'll be running a Dana 60 with most like 4:10's and 13" disks.  The wheel selection has been agonizing - trying to find a decent looking non-ricer wheel that is 12" in width and doesn't look like every other wheel out there.  With 18" rims, finding a 12" width is a real challenge.  Selection is mostly limited to 2 or 3 piece forged wheels $$$$.  Brand/Style really don't matter, they all cost about the same.  In order to avoid the rubber band effect with these tires (~4" side wall), I decided to use a black rim/barrel and a silver center.  It should give the tire a wider look to the sidewall.  I plan to have a 4" backspace for the deep dish muscle car look.  My top choice is this one from Forgeline.

Made significant progress this weekend.   :icon_smile_cool:  Finished the transmission tunnel (tacked it in - needs to be fully welded/etc. still):

Mocked up everything... Again  :eek2: I think this is the 5th time... lost track.
Here is a pic with the engine/tranny installed using the motor and transmission mounts I made.
You can see that there is plenty of clearance now.  The transmission tunnel was raised 2" in the front and 1" in the back.

Here are some pics of the finished steering column u-joints.  Spent significant time on this  :brickwall: - key was to use wooden dowels during mock-up.  Made like 5 different versions before I got the angles and clearance correct.  Ugh!

OK, so here is what I was after all along with this install.  Most E-body and B-body installs I have seen highly modify the firewall or end up taking out the A/C unit and/or wipers.  Since I want to drive this beast and enjoy it in the Texas heat... I wanted for everything to be functional.  Here, I've mocked up the A/C unit - it has a little more than 1/4" clearance above the tunnel - just thick enough for carpet.  I also mocked up the flaming river steering column  :drool5: as well as the Kiesler 4 speed pedals.

Obvious the shifter is a tad high from the truck.  :hah:  Kinda cool in a wierd way - like riding a chopper with ape-hangers...  Plan to replace the shifter with a pistol grip anyway...

I noticed that the original A/C tubes are in a tight spot under the hood - since I'll need to change the ends anyway, I'll have to figure out an arrangement to clear the fuel rail.

Here a couple of pics with the SRT-10 seats from the truck.  They are kind of tall - not sure if I like them yet.  Plan to use the 6-way power seat rack as well, but it will require quite a bit of modification to shorten the height more.  That will be my next weekend project.

why keisler 4 speed and not viper 6 speed?

GT

Sorry - I am using the Viper T56 Six Speed.  I bought the Kiesler 4 speed pedals to use.
