I have the kickdown linkage off of my car and would like to paint them the proper colours.

What colour are they supposed to be?

Also, does anyone know where I can get one or two of the clips that hold the pivot in place?  I've also included a photo of one of them.

Thanks in advance.

Shakey,
Those clips were gold cad on my '70.
All the rods were clear zinc (silver) plated, including the trans lever also. The return spring on mine was yellow. Other clips were black phosphate, and the washers were zinc.

Hi Bill - thanks!

This is the clip I am looking for.

Yup. They were GOLD.
I had mine replated, but I've seen them for sale at swap meets at some of those larger, "generic" clip resto booths. Check with some of the larger clips suppliers, they might have them. Or, maybe R/T Specialties?  :shruggy:

Shakey, are you just trying to replace missing ones or are you trying to find nearly perfect ones?  I ask because I have to do a garage cleanup this afternoon and if a couple turn up, you can have them.  If none turn up or you are looking for a pair to match the condition f everything else on the car, well, then I can't help you.

Hi Ghoste,

I'm looking for replacements.  I ruined one taking it off on the weekend and the other one (I only think there are two used) is pretty rough as well.  I'd be happy if I had a couple that I could wire wheel for a minute and then splash some paint on.

If you have them, that's be great.  I'd be more than happy to compensate for the parts and time, even if it were a few beers somewhere down the road.

Thanks in advance.

Even beer is extravagant.  I'll keep my eyes open while I'm cleaning up and if I find any I'll just get your address and fire them off.  I know there are some old bits of linkage laying around but that doesn't mean I'll find what you need.

I'm also looking for a piece of linkage.

It's number 12 in the first attachment (I think you originally posted that scan).  The one on my car has been welded together.   :shruggy:

Thanks again for the efforts.
