I'm reading the instructions for the Mopar mini starter and it states that you have to cut the one positive battery cable (leading to the solenoid) and splice in their clip in connector. What the F@#$^? Has anyone else done this? Is there another way around this procedure? I really don't like the idea of cutting my original positive cable in order to make this starter work. Ideas are appreciated.  :shruggy:

I think I'd get a short piece of the correct guage cable and rig up some sort of adaptor.

I was thinking about the same thing. Get an inexpensive cable at Auto Zone, cut the smaller wire, place the two ring tongue connectors one on top of the other, put a short bolt/screw in to hold them together and seal with heat shrink. Whadda ya think? LOL.

I think it sounds like a good idea.

I never had to do anything like that.  I did have to remove the plastic terminal adapter though.  My stock cable for the starter with no modifications after the adapter was removed

Exactly how do you remove the adaptor? Are you referring to the Mopar Performance mini starter? Mine has a black plastic housing that the solenoid wire attaches to. Is it under the black plastic housing?

Remove this piece and you'll be left with the studs that correspond to your factory cable

Unless this is the one you have?  If so then I guess you'll have to follow their instructions.... Looks like they might have changed the design :rotz:

There are tons of the "older type" on ebay now

Yeah I have the new design. Seems stupid to me. I'll either make it work or get a different one. Thanks Just 6T9_CHGR
