There are a lot of jerks in the world. I don't think it is a new phenomenon. They were around when  I was a kid. I think all of us have experience with "punks".

Thankfully everybody doesn't like rap. I would say that most kids your age do. Most of them are just "followers" who like it because everyone else does. It shows a lot of character that you go against the flow and like your own thing. That's the sign of a leader.

I personally like classic rock and country. I would venture to guess that a lot of folks on this site do too. You are definitely not alone in your preference.

What is happening to the world??? It's still spinning brother. I am afraid that's a question that has been asked since the beginning of time. Every generation thinks the world is falling apart. As time goes by things change. Sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. The important thing is to know who you are and be strong in your personal beliefs. If you do what is right that's all that matters. You will be fine.

Well said. There are less of us now than before and the new generation has taken over. I work at a school and one or two out of 50 could tell me who or what Led Zeppelin is! I do know from teaching high school, kids are different today than they were 15 years ago, but it isnt all bad.  There are still many very good kids out there.  The lack of work ethic bothers me more than manners and the style of music they listen to.
