I have to say, those cars are highly under rated, I've owned 3 and i'll tell you what, they all started every day, drove like they were on a sheet of glass, and handled great.

On the TV series Fantasy Island, Chrysler supplied either a Volaré (or Aspen) station wagon which was fitted with a surrey top and a lifted suspension much similar to a modern-day sport utility vehicle. The 'safari' wagon seen on the TV series was driven by the lead character Mr. Roarke, portrayed by then-Chrysler pitchman Ricardo Montalbán (at the time, was appearing in commercials for the Chrysler Cordoba).

95 was a sad year for the auto industry...

bull

Pretty impressive to see a Mopar get the honor in '69 considering the competition.

93, 83, 80, 78, 74, 72, 71 & especially 1960 (obviously pre-Nader) were nothing to brag about either. :rotz:

Sorta makes you wonder what sort of criteria is inolved in a Car of the Year title, no wonder I never read Motor Trend. :eyes:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

dkn1997

How the F  the k car win?  did the other automakers have a strike and not make cars '81?

Yeah, nice car of the year....for me to poop on!!!

I realize that car saved the company, but even as an 11-12 year old riding in new ones (my dad's company car from xerox) I knew they were junk.
