I have a 14" set of wheels from a 1973 Charger I would like to use as temps on a 15" wheel 1972 car while I repaint the wheels. Will they fit?

Yes, if they are a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. The speedo will be slightly off though.

they might not fit. it depends on if it rubs on the front calipers.

I forgot about that, but 14's fit on my 74.

For the amount of time it'll take, why not just mount one up on the front and see?

I have a 72 Rallye under construction in another town with 15" wheels. I have a 73 parts car here with 14" wheels and tires. I figured if they fit, I would swap wheels and tires and begin blasting and repainting the 15" wheels and get them ready for the car.

There's typically no problem going up a size in rim diameters, as long as the offset/backspacing isn't very far different.

But beware of actually driving the car around that way.  Besides all the braking/handling differences you might expect, there's also a rear differential issue:  A limited-slip differential will be getting worn out VERY fast if you cruise around on two different overall tire diameters on the two rear wheels.

Even if it turns out they didnt fit because of the calipers you could just take off the calipers, as long as its not being driven.  You said its under construction so it shouldnt be a big deal as they would just be roller tires at this point anyways.

I've had three 3rd gen Chargers over the years; two '71s and  '73. I also had a '74 Satellite. They all came from the factory with 14" wheels.

I know that mine came factory with 14's as well.
