I don't see a clutch pedal but that shifterlooks like a standard shifter

I've seen some pickups like that!  It's an automatic floor shifter, kinda like the slap shifter but with out the "T" handle and console and it ratchets to shift.

Used to be a rage in old T-buckets to have a really tall shifter that looks like a standard shift but is really an automatic.  I guess when you think about it. . .it's like the guys putting a pistol grip handle in place of the "T" handle slap shifter for that "4 Speed/pistol grip look" just in reverse!   ;D

Yep auto. You should see some of the shifters in 49/50 Mercs after rodders get done. Some of those go higher than the dash!
Nothing personal, just business

That's a Hurst Indymatic shifter. It's an aftermarket universal shifter.

i was thinking of doing this to my car... i have a 4 speed but non of the parts to install it and before i got the 440 i was going to redo the floor so i was thinking about installing the manual hump then using a shifter like that until i had the all the rest of the parts needed for the 4 speed conversion. but now that i got a 440 i'm going to rebuild that and hopefuly get the rest of the parts for the 4 speed the install them together. and cut the floor then. damn i wish i wasn't a poor college student!
