What a long day!  Abigail Lauren was born at 5:27 this morning.  Perfectly healthy and weighs 6 lbs 4 oz.  My girlfriend is still recovering from the C section, she was in labor for a long time.  Shes had strong contractions and daily trips to the hospital since Thursday and then Saturday /early Sunday morning we came in at 3am, active labor for about 28 1/2 hours but she just couldnt get dilated past 4 cm so they had to do the C section.  She was up on her feet today but still in some pain even with the meds.  Shes asleep now, finally getting some well deserved rest...  Nothing went as planned but it all worked out in the end.  We will get to come home on Thursday.   ;D

Congrats Matt, beautiful little girl. Glad everything turned out ok. Tell Mom she did a great job. 2 more days and she would have been born on my Birthday. Today is my brother, Scott's birthday. And my brother's Jason and Nick's was the 28th. Well, get some sleep while you can.

Congratulations, my son weighed exactly the same, but he came a month early and 19 inches long.  It is such an amazing feeling isn't it?  I also love the fact that old names are coming back.  We named our daughter Lillian Marie.  Get some sleep.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris

That's for sure! It also has a way of making you feel like you rounded a big corner in life when you bring baby home that first time.

Congrats to both of you, she's a little cutie. :)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
