Hello I need to get a a tach for the car, want a tic toc. I may get 1 from charger specialties, or should I look for a used one?

Prices are both more less the same, even a perfect working not faded used one will be a little bit more expensive. Repro one isn't made with the exactly numbers font as far I know, at least for 3rd gens.

Unless they've been upgraded them the number placement on the reproduction ones is off, and that bugs me. I'd find a used one on Ebay or a swap meet and have it changed over to the quartz movement if it were me.

The tic-toc-tac in my car is from Charger Specialties, and it's not accurate.   It reads 3500 rpm when the engine is running at 2500 rpm.   It's nice for show, but that's all.   My friend has a '69 Super Bee with the repro tac, and his reads high also.

I have the restorations by Julius tach.      I like having just the tach - it's very accurate on it's own - I can't vouch for the Charger Specialties copycat of the same tho.    Ph8ck the tic toc part - it blocks the view of the tach and kills batteries of sitting cars.
