May be a dumb question, but I just got my 69 charger running, but the entire drivetrain vibrates alot.  the motor mounts are new , but the tranny mount is probably an origianal one.  the complete exhaust sytem even raddles against the under carriage.  does this sound like a bad tranny mount to you guys or something else?

It is certainly possible but vibrations can be the most frustrating and maddening things to track down.  You say you just got it running, do you know if it was vibrating before?

I had it running last year, It shook, but not nearly as bad if memory serves me correctly.  It only ran for about a half hour last year though before a cam washer failure.  Today was its second attempt at startup.  Prior the car sat for 25 years.  It's all new rebuild  motor and tranny.

Have you checked the trans mount yet to see if it's all rotten under there?  Driveshaft is straight, right?

It shakes before it is put in gear even so i wouldnt think it is the driveshaft.  i checked the tranny mount last nite.  seems solid, just old.

have you checked the firing order and make sure the plug wires are on the right plugs ? have you driven it yet or is all this taking place just sitting?

I just double checked the firing order and it was fine.  it all happens with the car just sitting.  was only able to drive it a few feet (brakes have a hard peddle) put a new booster on, hoping i can just bleed them out.  Would timing make it shake like this as well?  its only dialed in by ear but seems to start up fine.  One aditional question when i brought no 1 up  i waited for the push of air to come from the no 1 spark plug hole and then finished rotating to the balancer 0 mark.  is this proper or should i have back tracked to it?  would the car run if i had timing set at 180 out of tdc.

thanks so much gentlemen
