It's painful to see that happen to a Power Bulge hood, but yeah, Sweet.

73/74,  I've owned 2 73's, both SE's, beautifully sculpted body shape. however , I like the hidden headlights from 71/72, never was a fan of the c pillar shape of those models , though

I don't have a favorite, even though I have a 74 Spring Speciall. I just loove Mopars  :D . It did have the full black vinyl top from the factory. As you can see, some idiot had taken it off.

Like all makes and models of muscle cars, after 69 they got a little uglier each year. and the 71 72 look a little better than 73 74.

andy74

71 and 72s for me,73 and 74s nice, but just not the same with the ugly bumpers, and the rubber mount k frame/rear end just never did anything for me

Ugly bumpers?   :shruggy:  :stirthepot:

I plan to lose those rubber bushings too.  I like to feel the road and I'll take handling over ride quality any day.

So who's keeping count?  Who's winning?  Why wasn't this set up as a poll?   ???

ACUDANUT

I am keeping tabs.  It looks like the 71/72 Chargers are of course the winners.  I still can't believe the guys with 73/74 Chargers think there is little to no difference. :brickwall:

jasonfromIKILLYA

alright look, stop bangin your head against the wall.  These "massive body line differences" you speak of are really just the back windows.  yes, they change the side profile of the car but my point is that it's not that drastic.  I'm not a huge fan of the bumper guards either but I think the real problem here is that everyone is too close.  Drive a 71 and a 74 past and the only people able to tell the difference would be those of us here.  I'm just saying that maybe that's a bit over the top.  yes, there are differences, but they are not that big.  You can swap 95% of the parts between the years so what does that tell you?

Nacho-RT74

I think around 70% of parts are interchangeable without or with SLIGHT modifications. 95% is too optimistic :P.

another different story is that they are the right parts, but the fact is some of them fits without problem.

absolutelly not interchangeable:

doors.
quarters.
quarter glass.
upper interior panels.
Complete front end.
inner fenders
front frame rails.
rear quarter end caps.

interchangeable parts with slight modifications.
Front valence.
wiring.
Parking lights

Incorrect parts but fit without mods:
fenders
front splash shields if you change complete with fender.
Grilles
Tail lights
seats
rear lower panels

that is more less what we have. there are more details.

1974 adds more stuff that makes difference from the rest

I know one thing for sure. Out of the big three MoPar was last ones to have good muscle look. Chevlelles Mustangs took a big dump in 74.

I'll concede to 75% if we are talking about making the car year correct.  If you're just talking about parts that fit, it's 95%.

still, that is too much if you think half of exterior sheet metal IS ABSOLUTELLY not interchangeable, plus front end.
