Tarantino-Rodriguez's GRINDHOUSE: not for the faint of heart

Just saw GRINDHOUSE which is actually a cool concept film - two movies in one with vintage-style parody trailers between two exploitation-type movies.

rodriguez's film, "Planet Terror," is a cool zombie movie with a great performance by Rose McGowan as a stripper-amputee who gets outfitted with an M-16 for a leg - not to be missed!

tarantino's film "death proof" is a girl-revenge movie featuring Kurt Russell and - perhaps most painful - the absolute DESTRUCTION of two classic mopars: a 1969 base-model Charger and a 1970 Challenger akin to the one in Vanishing Point.

needless to say, i had a very difficult time sitting through the 15 minute chase/destruction sequence of the two vehicles.

i saw this earlier this week on an ebay alert and it sure seems to be the same vehicle that gets completely destroyed / rolled at the end of the film:

not sure there was much left of the challenger.

in any event, i dug the movie but again, i HATE to see vintage mopars destroyed - even for "art."

what's your take?

I'm thinkin' that Charger sure doesn't look very rusty in those pics...no big hunks of bondo & such. :icon_smile_angry:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
