I read on here about a year ago that Mallory now builds the distributors for chrysler on their electronic conversions, can a person use the same style of  advance weight springs as the factory distributor uses  or are they  different and have to goto mallory to get heaver ones?

I just helped a friend of mine convert his 69 RT 440 to electronic ignition from his worn out points setup, it sure made a difference on how it runs, however because of its aggressive advance curve I had to back the timing down in order for it not to ping which I dont' like, his factory set-up all came in around 4000 rpm and this mallory unit comes in all by 2000 rpm which I think is too fast for his set-up, I would like to slow the rate  down to all in my 3000. I had his points system set at 15* intial and 38* total with no vac adv. and with his electronic I have to have  it set at 10* intial and 30* total with no vac adv. so it won't ping.

You might check the Bouchillon Performance website.  I seem to recall that they advertised a electronic style distributor with factory advance---in face, they made a big deal about how this was superior for a street engine.  In any case, a phone call to them might be helpful.  I bought the Mopar Performance distributor with orange box.  Installing it is years away but I have thought that the distributor advance curve might be something I would have to worry about down the line.  Could you post what you find out.  Thanks.
