I hate to be a nit picker, but the animal on the poster is a red panda that is native to southeast Asia.  Mostly eats bamboo.

"The science should not stand in the way of this."? 

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us. 

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

It was a post from one of the presidential candidates (on facebook) that was picked up by the news.  The colors represent states with governors that have taken a stand for against, or not yet related to the refugee issue.  I have no idea how a map could get messed up that way.

Oh, then I didn't get it.  I thought it was a representation of those states that had made "weed" legal, states that allow medical use and those that still fighting against it??   I thought the little white thing sticking out of New Jersey was a doobie.

The "doobie" is Long Island but it does look like one.
I did read the article but on a different site and the states were OK ... so I see, the "joke" was how goofed up the states were.   :2thumbs:
