Last Saturday after working my butt off to get the magnum 500 wheels repainted and tires mounted we took off for a car show in Jefferson City about 30 miles away. When we got there I noticed that the tranny was slipping a little in first in the 66 Charger. We continued on to the cruise spot and as we turned onto the street where all the cars where I blew a hole in one of the mufflers. :brickwall: So here I am with a slipping tranny and an exhaust that sounded like crap. We stayed for about an hour and a half and started home. We made it home okay. I changed fluid this week and it is still acting up. So now this weekend I will swap out the tranny with a rebulit one that I had sitting with all new transgo rebuild. Then Monday I will take it into town for a new set of Flowmasters 40 series. The kids and I had planned on doing this for wifes birthday anyway later this month, so it will be a few earlier.
What is anyones experience with this type of muffler on a 440? Is it too loud or will I be happy with them. The shop I am taking it to also has 50 series flowmasters too. But I am told they are too quiet, the car had some type of turbo mufflers on it. I want to be able to hear it when I'm driving it around and jump on it.   :drive:

IMHO the Flawbastards sound great when your heavy on the throttle....buuuut if you enjoy actually driving & cruising in the car, the drone inside the car was too much for me to handle....

Dynomax makes a better muffler as does Tom at www.accurateltd.com

I installed a set of his high flow hemi mufflers & love the tone.   Not too quite @ idle and NO DRONE at cruise rpm's
