What would it take to put a T56 trans from a 93 Viper into a 68-70 B-body?

Is there a mounting kit already out there or would this trans just not work.

it would have to be all custom work, nobody has kits that you just install in b body

Yep thats what I thought.  I could get a screaming deal on one.

Biggest issue is the height of the T--56. Major surgery to the tunnel is required.

it can be done though, remember the GTS Charger? Guy fitted whole viper drivetrain under a B body

It does require trans tunnel modification.  The mount however requires very little mod to hold the t56.  The driveshaft also required only about an inch of tube cut off to be the correct length (coming from a 727).  I have long monkey arms (according to my wife) so I am comfortable with the placement of the shifter, but if you are not so tall you may want to make a different shifter to bring the handle back some.

have seen a few cars that they putted T-56´s in, and they lift the trans tunnel 2-2,5 inches.
Is´nt there a kit to get, that moves shifter frther back???
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

just wanted some advise. when I make my superbird roadracer clone someday, does tremec have a 5 speed and a 6 speed manual tranny??? do they make a pedal kit too for brake clutch setup???or should I go with a regular 70 b body 18 spline and an overdrive?? i run a 323 geared  8 3/4  rear on my present 4 speed bird  for the open road ,and it still needs an overdrive . I like to putt at 80 mph at about 1800 rpm.   thanks     Tom
