I have decided that I am sick of spending money on all the things that keep breaking on my 69 318, so I am going to rebuild it along with the 904 tranny.  I was think of getting one of the felpro rebuild kits for around $300 which comes with pistons (not forged), rings, all the bearings and gaskets.  I have an edelbrock 500cfm carb and performer intake already and can't decide between the eddy performer or performer rpm cam.  New heads are too expensive along with porting so i am going to keep the stock ones.  Just need any advice you guys can give me about the valvetrain, cam, torque converter etc.  The car is a daily driver and I am going to put richmond 3.55s and auburn posi in the back eventually.  Also how much would it cost to rebuild the tranny if a friend and me did it? Thanks for any help.  (PS dad won't let me put a big block in  :icon_smile_angry:)

The Eddy cams are pretty lame , get a Mopar performance cam at least , the 450/458 lift cam should work well , if you can get a set of the 87-92 302 swirl casting off a truck at a local wrecking yard those would be an improvement on the heads you have now & will not cost much you should be able to get the seals & clutches for the tranny for $200 but you need some special tools to change all the seals
