Do I need this peice on the pass side,it's like a swinging damper,I think i'm missing a peice or a heatspring. Can I cut it out and fill the holes, and what s it for or do.

It is used to pre heat the intake manifold by closing off & redirecting hot exhaust back through the intake manifold heat crossovers.

You can remove it & fill in the hole for the rod as I did on mine....

only needs for faster warming. It does close the pass side exhaust and all the exhaust gasses passes throught manifold crossover to a faster warming engine from fast iddle when is cold to  iddle.

There is dealers with those replacement still available. Not cheap.

You can remove that and  seal the holes thought

as stated not cheap. Maybe you can try to search or track a cheaper dealer, but there you have at least the PN

another option is change the manifold to a non preheat manifold kind too

Likely have to remove the manifold to get the butterfly valve out...don't want it stuck closed or rattling around...need to do the same on mine so let us know how it works out.
