How many of you guys use with regularity the A/C or heater blower ? does you blower melt its plug ? I have saved ALL MELTING POINTS ( that I have noticed ) on lever switch using relays to every speed. Right now only plug is melting is the one of the blower... not even the one coming from firewall that carry the clutch and blower too, just the blower plug itself.

Coming from a northern clime I can say that I use the blower quite frequently and haven't encountered that.
I'm about to go out there and check it again though.

I had a 73se that keep blowing fuses and the wire would get hot, I run new wire and put new motor in and it still did it never did find out why.

I saved from that since I installed relays... the weaker point was the lever switch, but I installed relays between switch and resistor. Resistor plugs are great, the plug at firewall is also great, is jut the last one before blower.

What it shows is that you have a poor connection at either the blower plug, or upstream. A bad connection creates heat due to electrical resistance. Take an ohm meter and start testing the harness before the connections, and after. When you get a huge increase in resistance, you will have found your problem.

Back N Black

Maybe check your blower motor, see if its starting to get tight due to bushing wear.High resistance in the fan motor will overheat the plug.

sometime ago I dissasembled the blower and clean tracks and brushes... maybe 2 or 3 years ago. A/C is being used around 6 months ago again

high resistance is the problem. lots of current(amps) pulled thur that connt. to the blower motor. the more current pulled thur a bad connt. the more heat built up there. just clean the blower motor term. cut and replace the wire connt. end. and see what happens.
