You're welcome Bob  :icon_smile_big:

One other thing to consider while the exhaust system is being re-worked ; Think about adding flanges to the mufflers & extension pipes...similar to where the header and headpipe connect. This way you can drop the exhaust out of the way in the event that the trans or gear vendors unit has to come out. The downside to X-pipes is that they "capture" the transmission which is a pain in the azz if you need to pull the tranny for any reason. I will be doing this to mine and allready have the collecters purchased for the install. I will be using 2 sets of Hooker collecters for this job.  :yesnod:

Another good idea Ron!  Actually, I had thought of this when I had to take the sawsall to the rear portion of the piping after the mufflers to get them off.  Come to think of it, the mufflers are big 'ol long glasspacks that probably will not work if I move the X pipe rearward.  Any more ideas on some shorter mean sounding mufflers? ;D ;D   Bob

Ranger Max, yea, I got the angle adaptor type (but still a good idea to confirm before shipment).  The issue was; I was having a hard time to get it to seat all the way into the housing and in fighting with it made the angle piece turn where it screws into the speedo thingy.  They have a big 'WARNING' about how the unit will be damaged if you turn it at that point.  I got a hold of Jordon at GV this morning and he said I'd be fine and if I could not get it to seat with some more grease to let him know and he would send me another one.  He did add that they are changing things in there installation manual and one of them was to install this piece BEFORE the unit is installed on the car.  I concur.

Ron, I'll check on local availabilty of the Dynomax mufflers.   Thanks, Bob

Ranger Max, I'm running 3.55's and do alot of highway cruises.  I got tired of turning 3100+ RPM's at 70 mph and still being passed by Yugo's.  If your after 3.91's you'll NEEED the gear vendors unit for the highway.  Yes, changing gears or tires will change your speedometer gear.  You need to give them your gear ratio and tire height to have the right speedo gear delivered with the unit.  Good luck.   Bob

:iagree: Tire diameter plays a big role in the final drive ratio....it needs to be taken into consideration.

Some examples :

3.91 + 28in tire = 3.63
3.55 + 28in tire = 3.30
3.23 + 28in tire = 3.00

OK, it's been awhile, but it's finally on the road (I've been a busy boy).  The  install went pretty smooth.  I located the control box in the glove box as it is a pretty clean looking installation.  Ran the wires from the solenoid and speedometer generator up through the B&M Mega Shifter floor box and then under the carpet, up behind the heater plenum and finally into the glove box.  I mounted the control switches under the ashtray.  I did run into a problem with the new tailpiece (adaptor) for the OD/UD unit.  I should have noticed this during the install but didn't.  The new tailpiece has a small rib running the length of it on the bottom.  The rib was making contact with the back side of the crossmember that houses the tranny mount.  This caused a constant vibration that increased with RPM's and a not so nice BANG when shifting gears.  The fix was a couple of washers between the mounting ears and the tranny and cutting away a small portion of the crossmember.  All is well now and I'll post under General Discussion the way it goes down the road now.    Bob
