My engine keeps missing...

I finally got the rebuilt carb dialed in and everything tuned up and I noticed the the engine seems to be missing on the drivers side bank. I hooked the timing light up and noticed that the #5 cylinder was getting spark but it was really erratic. It didn't follow any kind of pattern, it would blink quickly and then stop and not blink at all for a little while. What going on? The engine already has a real lumpy idle, but with it missing like that the car runs really bad, what do you guys think?

check your wires to make sure they're all tight the pull the cap and see if the brass terminal is corroded or burned away. good luck.

Bad cap or bad ignition wire.

I know it's obvious, but check to make sure you haven't mixed up any of the plug wires either if you've had the cap or anything off.
