Hey gang......

Can someone take a close up picture of their '68 Charger rear valance area around the liscense plate area so I can get good perspective of the hole and it's diameter? The '68 is different than '69's and '70's.... Of course the reproduction rear valances are designed with '69/'70 spec's having the bigger hole for the grommet.......

Thanks in advance.......

Sorry I don't have a picture of that hole up close, but its about the size of your pinky
finger '' thats a technical term''  ;D  The body guy that messed up my blue 68 RT,
would not make that 69/70 hole smaller to make it correct. So I had to find him a
69/70 license plate wire plug for my 68  :rotz: :rotz:  did I metion I had to just go
there after 5yrs and take my car and all of the parts back, I hate lying lazy body
men  :rotz: :rotz:  sorry I vented on your thread, I will try get a pic for you as well.

Well its a long story covering 5yrs, and of coarse it was going to be done in 6mo.....................
After we were done with the new 1/4's and trunk pan it was on the rotisserie. Then we started
the hard work, then he pushed the car outside for 6mo at a time, then work on it for a couple of
weeks during the summer, then back outside during the winter with just my car cover, and there was
no glass in it the first two winters he did this, need I go on  :rotz: :rotz: :rotz:
Anyway my friends were telling me for 3yrs lets go get the car, this SOB is a joke and is not going to
finish the car, well I had already given him 14k and did not want to loose my money, but after 5yrs
I did just go down there with 15 friends and get the car and the parts, I have the car in the garage
now, I have not touched it in 2yrs, lost all my money to that SOB. And the trunk pan, 1/4's and
the valance corners need to be taken back off and done correctly, OK I will stop now  :yesnod: :yesnod:

Hello Paul..
Thanks......... That helps a little.......  Well weld the hole shut and start drilling a couple of sizes smaller than what you have there and then test fit my harness after each increased drilling until it's a nice fit..

smasherofall

what i did was cut around the hole about a half inch in my old valance, (luckilly hadn't thrown it away yet) and welded it to the back side of the new one, came out pretty good.

Troy, the grommet is about 2mm bigger than the hole. Sorry the pics are poor, but it's difficult with the bumper on.
