A '68 Charger with 318 and column shift, longest lasting engine, or maybe the /six with column shift, but I'm not familiar with the six, could be.

I've got both, but can't comment on the duribility quite yet (need to restore them first).  I only drove the /6 a few blocks before putting it into storage and the other was missing the transmission when I got it.  I have a feeling that the /6 would last longer overall as those engines have a reputation as being indestructible (no, I don't want to prove that).......

'71 stronger frame?..
go back to the  chevy sites..
a DAYTONA HEMI four speed has to be the absolute fastest,  approching speeds in excess of 150 MPH, finding a place to use such power and areodynamics outside of a race track would have to be a problem,..
quicker to 100 would have to be a 70 0r '71 six-pack but not by much.

going off topic a bit

ever since i got into mopars at a very early age , i have always thought it odd  XX29 chargers  were not fitted  2:76 & 2:94 gears with the  lowest being 3:23 , from the factory ,

Well call me biased, but I'm going to have to say that the fastest road test that I remember for any of the old Mopars would be the 1969 HEMI Charger 500. I believe that in one test it ran a 13.40 and in another magazine ran a 13.48 at 109mph. I don't recall any of the other cars running lower.

I'd say in a 1/4 mile I'd take a 70 Charger 440 Six Pack as it'll beat a Hemi. But if the race is longer then the Hemi will take over at the high end.

Guess its time to think about upgrading to that six pack again.  :icon_smile_cool:
