OK '68 Hemi owner's......

Just showing the quark of my car.. Seems my hemi-equipped '68 Charger R/T didn't have the heater hose support bracket. This is the original sheetmetal, yet no hole over the shock tower for the bracket..... One side of me wants to "Not" put it on, and the other side wants to for order and "correctness" of year........ If I don't, the hoses will just lay across the shock tower........ The hole you see is for the rear washer bottle attach point......

If it's the original metal and there is no hole, not putting one there would be correct for that car... :shruggy: imo
Someone was sleeping at the Assembly line the day your car was built.

I know my car is a '72 Troy, but my car is missing holes for stuff here and there too. Like I am missing a hole for the voltage regulator(only have 2 out of the 3 that were drilled out), and one hole of my heater hose braket was drilled out on the right inner fender well.

I`ll ask you a question, Any evidence of the hole being welded closed?
Original fender well or was it replaced at some point during the cars life?
If its the original pce. Then I would leave it as is.

Nope, I had the car dipped and everything but metal is there..... There is absolutely no evidence of a patch or inner fender panel replacement. It's the original as far I can see....

Troy your car is not the only one like that. You spotted this before on one of the road tests I posted.
Leave it be and use the band to hold hoses together.

You are correct, non-hemi big blocks used the hose clamp-2-valvecover for the heater hose routing... Hemi's were the first to utilize what would eventually become standard issue on '69 big block B's....

Yeah, ya guys are correct.......... Since I did find other '68's without it, I'll just strap the hose like the one in the '68 test issue......

I don't think 68's BB cars used that clamp. I'm pretty sure they have a heater hose clamp that's attached to the valuve cover to keep heater hoses in-line.

Don't know about Hemis...
