Problem: Hooker headers 2" on Indy SR heads!

Hi,
Anyone who had try to mont Hooker headers Super compition 2" on Indy SR heads in a -69 Charger or another b-body. I'm getting crazy! No clearance on the driving side at all. It's a little bit better on the passanger side, only problem is the torision bar...
But on driver side the pipe who monts alone dont even contact the head!! They touch both chassi and stearing column!

I dont know what to do? Is it possible to heat it and then bend it or must I cut it and weld...

Hate headers!

TTI makes a special set just for SR heads.   SR's have raised exhaust ports which makes anything for regular heads out of whack.

Yes, I know but when I bought the headers TTI dont have thoose headers. But what I know hooker shold fit on SR heads.

Sorry, my english it not so good. But when a bought the headers for my engine a didn't know about the TTI for SR heads. Don't even think they was on the market?

And I can not find any information that the hooker super compitetion 2" for 440 don't fit SR heads...

The 2in supercomps will bolt up to the heads....that is not the problem. The raised ex ports on the SR heads IS  the problem....that is why TTI made a header specificly for that application. Using a std ex port location header with a raised port head will create all kinds of chassis fit headaches. :brickwall: The sparkplug access due the angled plug heads is another headache.  :smash: Sell the hookers and get some TTI step headers....you will be much happier.  :yesnod:

Hi Ron,
I all ready did. I have ordered the TTI headers for SR heads and 3" cross-pipe with flowmasters and a nice pair of charger tips. I'm happy again!

awhile back I bought Hooker  1 7/8  headers For my Indy EZ's and that was no fun. I had to heat up and bang the headers away from the torsion bars. Maybe one of these days I can get enough to buy a TTI setup
