I found this old Mopar Collector's Guide from October 1991. I couldnt scan it but heres what the ad said.

1969 Charger 500, HEMI CAR, BODY ONLY, BURNED IN GARAGE FIRE, COMES WITH 1969 CHARGER 500, ORIGINAL 440 CAR, SOME RUST, NEED RESTO. $20,000 FOR BOTH.

I think thats a good deal. Even though ones burned you can still fix the other one.

Did they make RT Daytonas?

There's no such thing as a Daytona R/T - at least in 1969.  More than likely what they have is a car that went out of Hamtramck with an R/T badge on the tail panel, and probably R/T badges on the quarterpanels as well (due to the V88 code).  Creative Industries had to at least remove the quarterpanel R/T emblems to install the Daytona stripe, which wasn't a big deal since they were also doing some repair/painting work to the quarterpanels anyway.  I am guessing that they left the R/T badge in the tailpanel since that would have involved repainting the Organosol tailpanel for the sake of that single emblem.  My guess is that was too much work for very little gain so they shipped the car with the R/T tailpanel badging.

I know there were a few that came out that way, but it wasn't because they had some special "package", it was pretty much a mistake on Hamtramck's part.  '69 C500's, R/T's and Daytonas were all equipped the same way from a driveline/suspension/chassis standpoint...

I thought there were a couple of DC.com members who had C500's with patched-up holes on the quarterpanels where the R/T emblems were inadvertently installed?

My 69 500 has the patched-up holes in the quarters and i found one of the R/T studs that was broken off down in the lower trunk next to the upside down rear marker lens. My car is unrestord with 38K so i am sure it is not messed with.  :icon_smile_cool: Jay.

If its a T5 bronze Daytona with the R/T tail panel then its the one that was on display at the Chrysler Museum for all of those years.

don't know if it is the same one but i remember reading about a Daytona with a R/T on the tail panel , that was bronze . a bishop or a vicar  ordered it from the dealer .. as his new  daily transport .

I think its the same one. I remember seeing a photo of the rear end of the car that was on display, and it had the R/T emblem.

Those cars were Ron Slobs cars , the burnt 500 was out of Chi - town , Ron always claimed the Daytona was a Daytona RT ??

So is it the B5 blue 4 speed HEMI 500 that he used to own then?
