I have worked a t a dodge dealership for the last 4 years. I went to training in california and met a bigwig at chrysler. he told me that the challenger would be made for sure and there would probably be multiple levels of the car, such as V-6 and V-8. I am planning on buying one asap.

again very good news, but every thing I am hearing has said about 30,000 built the first year that is a very low production run to have a wide range of performance levels

I may sound like a broken record, but If this car comes out and is priced from 25-35K , it would be a miracle if more than 10 people on this entire forum bought one.  the truth is that even 30K is a lot money for a car for most people and life gets in the way. kids, bad economy, whatever.  hard to blow that kind of money on what would be a weekend toy for most of us.

I do hope they make it though.  It could help dull the memory of the reliant K, plymouth sapporo/challenger of the 80's, and the German takeover.

Mine would be more than just a weekend toy, but I just recieved a email from Daimler, It just was some spin on the upcoming car, so if they were thinking of not putting this out why would they bother sending emails out to perspective buyers?

Well I think the issue is that Daimler is possibly selling Chrysler, which could change the plans to build the car, depending on who buys the company.

Yeah, I need to have a few more things taken care of - some more $$ and room for at least one other vehicle to address some practical needs to have one of these around.

Hey now, the Reliant K is part of the reason there's even a trace of Chrysler around today to be talking about.

If they build a Challenger comparably priced with a Mustang, then I plan on buying one.  If they limit the production and keep the price at $45k, I won't.

Same here. If its priced at $45K I will wait about a year or two and buy a used one.

Mine would be more than just a weekend toy,

I agree.  Mine would be a daily driver until it's ten years old, then I would put it away.  They say history repeats itself, so this could be the start of the cars, that in 30-35 years, are worth the kind of money that the Hemis, and Superbirds, ect, are now.  Yes I will be getting one to have a great looking car, but also for resale when I am ready to retire in 30 years.  I think it is worth the chance to find out! :icon_smile_cool:

yeah mine would be a daily driver for a while too.  In fact we would only have that and the 68 charger by then.
