I have a 72 charger and just got a new headlight motor. The motor still doesn't open and close. Should  the motor  open and close when the headlight switch is turned on and off ? Also does anyone  have a wiring  diagram for this setup ?  Thanks to anyone who can help.

With the key on and the headlights off,  one of the two wires at the headlight door connector should have power.  When you turn the headlights on the power should switch to the other wire.

key must be on and then turn on headlights.

check one wire at a time for voltage- key off & headlights off- power on one wire and key on & headlights on- power on the other.

if not- time to check the relay inside
