Hey gang..
Isn't there someone making the mechanical voltage regulators for the '69 and earlier Mopars that has the correct yellow lettering? I could have swore there was a product out there......

Thanks,
Troy

I didn't know anyone was kicking out new points-style regulators - are they really points type regulators?  Everything I've read touts the benefits of the electronic style.  That's what I have on my car, and it works great (except if you get it wet...  DAMHIK).  As far as the yellow lettering goes, I thought you had to send one off to someone like David Patik for the correct yellow letter treatment...  could be wrong though.

im pretty sure they have them and date code too but too be sure id give them a call and find out

I had to find an original cover to send to PCG as I have heard (and I could be wrong) that they will only reletter original voltage regulator covers, not the repro type that clip or on screw on.  The originals seem to be the only ones that have the metal go all the way down to where it covers the area where it bolts up to the firewall.

YearOne was selling the black box mechanical version with the solid state guts in it..... I've come to find out that there was red lettering as well, not only yellow.. I have a picture of that survivor '68 Charger from the Jeff. City show. I took a engine shot and it clearly has an OEM regulator with red lettering.... Maybe Dave is the guy Mega gets their stuff from? I'll do this for the '68..........

Troy,

Supposedly, the red lettering was the over the counter part version.  The yellow was what the factory installed.

Nacho,

The adjustable one was used on cars prior to 1968 I believe.

I called Mega to find out if they carry them and I'm waiting on their return call. I need one because I presently have a bright blue one, that kind of sticks out.

You can get regular black ones that look correct, albeit don't have the lettering and such, from YearOne.. I was just looking over there on their website for you this morning............

Troy, you Houston guys need to try and get up here for the Cowtown show on 4-21-07 -  rain date next day. Show is a tribute to Ronnie Soxs, and his widow is suppose to there.

I'll be just returning from Iraq, so I 'May' make up there.. I've been there a few times.. I was a member between '87 and '91 when I was stationed active duty at Carswell... Allen remembers....  :icon_smile_big:

Should be good.. Think she may attend our show as well....... Hopefully I'll have the Dana, my '69 Charger 500, up and going..... It would be a nice trip for sure with the family.......  Of course, with a, then will be one year old, daughter, I'll be towing regardless............  I will be spreading the word to the club here........

Careful with the A12 forum, they seem to hold their nose up to us "low lifes" as we do not own an A12 car.  I posted some things over in that forum that were general B body stuff and it was either locked or moved over to the general section (before they had the resto forum) and it got lost in 5 mins with no replies.
