C_Stripes, It is definately hard to get someone who is a staunch non believer to take you seriously. I think it is funny that people who weren't there think they can tell you what you saw, heard, or felt. I am as level headed as they come. I don't exagerate my experiences or make stuff up; and it doesn't sound like you do either (As you propably know it is easy to tell a BS story from a real experience when you have had an experience). The only thing people like us can do is tell about our experiences and let the person who hears it draw their own conclusions.     Heck maybe there is an easy explanation why my bed has slid halfway accross my bedroom (while I was laying in it AWAKE, not moving), while at the same time I hear a man yell out "sh$t" very loudly, then my lamp on my night stand flies accross the room. All within a 5 second time frame. The window was closed so it must have been the wind from the AC in the house? I have had at least 6 or 8 other just as extremely bizarre experiences in my parents house and numerous lesser experiences while growing up. Thanks for the support C_Stripes.

Why in the hell do you still go over there???? Ain't no f***ing way i would ever stay the night again!!! I dont care if I had to drive 5 hours home.. Stay in a hotel!!!

How about photographing a demon "posing" for the camera at a friends house down the road. (Didn't know it was there until we developed the film).

:popcrn:   Can you scan and post that picture for us to see ?    :icon_smile_big: :popcrn:

Thought you might want to see that. Yeah, I will later after I get off work. It was a first gen digital camera so the res sucks, but you can definitely see it coming out of a closed window. Thank goodness I had blown up prints made before my computer crashed a couple years ago. I can't imagine what an awesome shot this would have been with a high res camera.

Man, I know what you mean, my late parents would take photos out side the place here and in the house and YOU would be surprise what you would not SEE in them  :o. I know about the faces in the windows also has I have afew photos here that you can see faces of things looking in through the window. My late mom took a photo when I was at a very yound age with the whole family and afew of my relatives standing in front of the living room wall and right in from of me and my late cousin was a dog that wasn't there when the photo was taken! Just think how we felt when we look at that photo and seen that  :scared: .

Was it a Dodge 'Demon' perhaps? :icon_smile_big:

Ok, here it is. A little background first. My buddy bought this house about 10 years ago. It was built in the 40's. When this picture was taken, the house was completely empty, no furniture, no nothing. He was doing some odds and ends repairs before he moved his family in. He decided to take a bunch of "before" shots of the place before he did any work to it. Well, he didn't notice anything odd about this photo until after reexamining it after a slew of paranormal activity. After relating a bunch of stuff that had been happening there, I suggested that he go back over his original photos to see if anything weird was in any of them. He called me back and said "You're not gonna believe this...something is coming out of the closed upstairs window in the pic of the front of the house."
Again, I'm sorry for the poor quality. The original shot was a little bit clearer and here is what it looks like to us:  In the original, you can make out more clearly that the window is definitely closed. You can see the window pane frame pieces with this "thing" coming out in front of it. At first I didn't know what to make of it. It definitely looked like some sort of figure. It wasn't until I added some natural effects from yahoo's photo site that the face jumped out at me. I almost fell out of my chair when I saw this. In the following pictures you will see what to us looks like, more than anything else, a grinning, largely out of proportion skull. Again you can make it out better in the original, but it looks like it has its left arm coming out of the window frame with a fist against its hip, and the right arm bent with a fist over its chest. It totally looks like it is grinning and posing for the camera. There is NO artificial enhancing of this photo or any type of photo shop effects added here. It is what was photographed and naturally enhanced to bring out details. Enjoy!

I wanted to add that in the last picture, the reason the black shapes around the figure look so pronounced is that I was trying to bring out as much detail as possible with the contrast, hues, and gamma on my scanners photo fix options. They are not shapes that were painted in or anything. They are just exaggerated due to the enhancements.

Yeah, pretty crazy huh? I don't think anything was in the downstairs window. We scrutinized the original pretty thoroughly. Probably a reflection or part of another window frame.
The main figure that his little girls were seeing on a regular basis sounds like some old man hobo to me. Old style hat and jacket, very dirty and disheveled looking. My buddy would regularly hear conversation going on downstairs when all of them were upstairs trying to sleep. Many tappings on the walls and windows. Kitchen cabinets that wouldn't stay closed. Shadows moving around the house. They nick named him Charlie.

Sorry for dredging this back up.

But I got to thinking, why is it always white folk who experience paranormal stuff?  I'm sorry but if there was any doubt whatsoever of a home being possessed, there's NO way I or my family is moving there.  Real or imaginary.

Lots of the horror flicks & even real life, it's always some caucasian who all the neighbors say he/she was a pleasant/normal person before they did something unthinkable.

Just curious...

And they still moved in the house anyway????!!!??  :scratchchin:  :icon_smile_question: There is no way in hell I would have even gone back inside that house!! I would have put it back on the market the next day!!!  :Twocents:

For those claiming the show is crap I assume all the evidence the show has gotten over the years (ie audio/visual evidence) YOU have debunked?  Then let's see your proof that it is in fact BS/crap.

All that audio and video is easily done. Pictures  are easily manipulated.  I'm not saying the picture like the one that  was posted above didn't turn out like it shows, I'm just saying.... that's a malfunction in the camera, overexposed, double exposure, etc.... It just happens to look like the shape of something. It doesn't look like anything to me BTW, just a blurry blob that screwed up a picture.
The burden of proof isn't on me to prove otherwise, it is on people like yourself and others that want to believe there is something out there beyond flesh and bone. Sorry, dust to dust(and i'm not saying that in a religious reference either, I'm saying when you die you are worm dirt and nothing else)  Good luck.

I maintain it is CRAP!  :smilielol:

Oh and look to the left, this is my 6660 post. ooooooooo! Yeah, I don't believe in that crap either. Just sayin'

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

0X01B8

That pic up above:  you can clearly see a telephone line.  It's anchored at the right corner of the house near the window.  The blurry blob thing is probably a bird caught in flight.  Perhaps it was landing on that wire (or flying off) at the moment the pic was taken.

Jon Smith

it does look like a bird taking off....aw shoot...  and I was just becoming a believer too  :smilielol:

actually i have an open mind....but I've never seen anything yet thats totally convincing.....and I dont think I ever will on the internet

Landonsrt

I'd prefer to believe the bird theory than a ghosts bad impersonation of Skeletor in the window.

I'm not religious.  But IMHO the world is full of too much crazy sh*t for it to all be 100% bogus.

It's just the raw numbers.  Too many stories, from too many sane normal people, for too many centuries.  I don't presume to tell ALL those people that I'm right and they're wrong about what they witnessed.

As for proof .  .  .  what would "proof" really be?  IMHO almost any proof that is too impressive will be written off as a fake no matter how credible it really is.   It's not like they can just shoot a ghost with a rifle and haul the body into town in the back of a pickup.

Everytime my girl turns that sh*t on im like  ::)

Jon Smith

I'm actually far more likely to believe someones word about what they've seen than any of the videos, photos etc.. out there,
cameras pick up all kinds of reflections and other rubbish, and so many look fake...every time I see one, I believe a little less, people also sometimes jump straight to the supernatural conclusion rather than the logical  one, especially with photos

on the other hand, if somone sane and normal says they've seen something, who am I to say they havent?

I agree to a certain extent. Just like nobody returns after death to give any specifics.

Are you assuming the people on Ghost Hunters are con men purposely manipulating the audo/visual evidence?  I realize audio/visual paranormal "evidence" can be done as fake.  No question about it but there is also actual evidence that is not manipulated.  During the Ghost Hunters Halloween special last year Grant had his jacket collar tugged.  They captured it on night vision and infared cameras.  Upon viewing it over and over it's clear someting is tugging on the collar even though nobody is behind Grant.  So either it's paranormal activity or it's rigged.  I didn't see any strings pulling grants jacket collar on either camera.

There are many episodes containing audio and visual evidence that pass the smell test.  Not some out of focus blob or easily misinterpretated object or easily misinterpretatd EVP's etc.  Obvisouly if someone is agnostic or atheist they won't believe, they already have the built in bias that it is bogus.  Same can be send for believers, they'll believe anything.  Yeah I'm religious, I don't go to church or pray that much, but I've seen plenty of audio/visual evidence from Ghost Hunters, and other paranormal investigators to conclude that someothing is going on that we don't understand just yet.

As for the argument that it isn't up to the non-believers to provide proof, I disagree.  The non-believer should also provide evidence for their side as well.  Stating a personal opinion that any and all paranormal evidence is crap isn't bebunking anything.  An opinion isn't a fact.
