not trying to gate crash anythin guys  :icon_smile_big:  have not seen  any of the dukes  originals for a while . i used to watch them all the time when i was younger & video tape them off the tv  when they started the re runs , this was before DVD. then i would studdie them for differences in generals . you guys know much, much more a bout this than i do . but i also think i  remember seeing unaltered 68 tail lights  on a GL . i can not tell you what  one it was in ,but it might of been in the 3rd or 4th series .  also they used the same shot in a few other episodes  by memory.  this is not much help but .... it is were the film camera fixed in the middle of the dirt road . the dukes are either running from the cop's or rushing to get back to town . the GL drives  or does a tiny jump over the camera,  between the dust i am 99% sure  its 68 tail lamps .   like i say they used this clip a couple of times in different episodes .  if i had kept all the tapes i would look through them to find it  when i had the time :scope: :popcrn:  hope this  is of some help

man that sounds almost like the same scene I'm talking about but I don't think there was a road  but was more like in a feild next to the road. and they had the camera off behind the bushes so you couldn't see the ramp for the charger to jump from. Because soon as the rear tail panel came into the camera view they cut so that you wouldn't see it but there is a second of film that shows the tail panel an the tail lamps. When you say 3 or 4th series you mean 3 or 4th season, I'm going out on a limb here an going to say I think it was in probly season 4 where you seen that scene at.. but I won't say for sure though.

yep meant to say season :yesnod:   Hhmm... i am pretty sure the camera shot i am thinking of  was the GL driving / jumping over in the middle of a dirt road  :yesnod: . but now you mention it , yes i do remember seeing some thing like what you mentioned  also (MMJ) i think  ,..  the general was jumping on the right side of the screen , away from the camera :scratchchin:

just had a thought        the shot i am talking  of  on the dirt road  ,  i am thinking the episode were the dukes  look after boy that has been  trouble with the authorities  etc ...   then he procedes to steel hubcaps in hazzard .  possible totally wrong though :rotz:

to find this shot i think is worse than a needle in a hay stack ....  when you find this ( MMJ)   /  guys i would appreciateit if you would
post a picture of the clip hear so i can see i was not going crazy all those years a go & did see 68 tail lamps

yes the General was on the right hand side an jumping from the camera toward the left hand upside of the tv set an all you could see was mostly the driver and a fast second of the rear tail panel.

I don't think it was that episode but it was in around that era though.

not really as I said season 4 or 5 of the series so I norrowed it down so it should be easy to find just watch each jump in each episode from season 4 to 5 is all. I think I have a tape here with afew jumps on from season 4 an 5 an I think it might be on that tape. If I find find it I'll see if I can get my digital camera to work right an get a photo but can't say how it will turn out though.

thanks  Man that would be great :yesnod:   thinking some more , about the camera in the dirt road shot ,, i think  i am remembering that  there was a clip of the GL  with its trunk  lid open showing  that charger was originally F8 green  still had the jack instructions  on it 69 though in front of the farm ,   that might be something to go by for referance :-\ .

Wakko

I sure don't remember any '68 taillights either (and I look for those sort of things) but I haven't watched beyone Season 4 yet.  As far  as another pilot episode or pre movie, once again I've never heard of that.  Interested to see some sort of proof of that.

In the 2nd season episode "The Rustlers", the GL is sitting in front of the Tolliver farm with the trunk open and the underside is a crisp green (thinking F3) with jack instructions. This may be the car you are thinking of. I don't recall seeing 68 lights in that one either. I will watch it again sometime. I doubt it would have happened as the cars were not even built at WB at this time. They were all built to handle stunts and screen closeups at this point. If a 68 tailpanel was going to get through, my guess is it would be after they moved it all inhouse.

I know what I saw bud, it was a '68 tail panel, I know what a '69 tail panel looks like an this panel wasn't a '69 though.
