As some may know i have a full 16mm and 35mm theater setup in my backyard and play movies in the summer. ( I'm still waiting to play my Batman Begins I never got to play last year)
I know of a guy who has Funny Car Summer on 35mm film for pretty cheap but I can't decide if it's worth buying on film.
Part of me thinks it would be cool to have the film but part of me doesn't think it was really worth it.

What do you guys think?

Yea or nay?

Well, since it won't cost me anything - I say buy it!

Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen the movie.  If you have, then you know whether or not you should buy it.  If you haven't seen it, well as Paul stated, how much money are we talkin' here and do you think a movie like that would be cool to see on the big screen in the backyard?

If the price is reasonable, just buy it - it's only money!

yep     funny car summer  , defiantly worth getting in my opinion :yesnod: .  lot of good back in the day stuff with Big Jim Dunn with his barracuda funny   , & drag strips action of days gone bye .  there is a quick glimpse of a white superbird & a red 68 charger  & a few others  mopars also. have to pause it though to have a good look ... but they are there none the less . a bit slow in a couple of places , but a lot of nostalgic action , i think you can buy it on dvd or video pretty cheap also.  if you have not seen it  get  the dvd and see if it is worth it to you , getting the 35mm  cinema strip.

I think he wanted $50.00 plus shipping which in the film world is pretty darn cheap if the film is in good shape.

I have the thing on VHS but still haven't watched it all the way through.  It's got some interesting scenes but seems to be mostly a documentary following Jim Dunn in '73-'74. I guess it comes down to the cool factor. How cool is it to have on a giant screen and see it.  It's appeal is really limited to gearheads like us.  :drive:
Right now it also comes down to buying the film or buying the fuel sender for my new tank. ;D

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have sold my copy of Bullitt?

Not to whine or anything but these films are also usually about 5-6 reels each and I already have a double closet stuffed with boxes of films.
I know, boo-hoo, Dave has too many movies but I'm stuffed to the rafters.  :bawling:

Maybe I'll just go ahead and buy one more....and then one more after that and ........
Thank God my other half  loves Mopars and is supportive of movie habits!

Anyone want to fly out here and have a Mopar movie party?

HMmm... :scratchchin: :scratchchin:   don't  know anything about  movies on 35mm film & prices etc but ... it has got to be pretty damn rare to have that movie today  :yesnod:   like you say , what condition is it in :shruggy: .  you could always buy a repop tank sender any time  :icon_smile_wink: .  if you were to pass on this film , how long would it take to locate another & at what cost some time in the future    :-\
