Inslulated garage door......

who makes the best one?  was looking at a few at home depo ant just got really confused, but I'm sure I'm going with a metal with insulation inside........I know I make the easyest decision very hard

I used the Clopay (I believe that is the spelling) from Home Depot.  It is Aluminum, insulated, with textured surface inside and out, and white in color.  Has the little windows in one panel.  It made a tremendous difference in the temperature of my garage.  Plus, all the air whistling through stopped.  Cost me around $950 installed.  I highly recommend getting the installation which I bought through Home Depot.  And I used one of their 10% off coupons and that helped too.  One thing I did was determine that my mounting surfaces in my garage were not adequate so I went ahead and fixed all those myself and painted them before the installer got there.  Whole install process took about an hour and a half.  Got the opener which was a screw type from Sam's Club who had the best price.  Installer was real nice and went ahead and helped me install it since I helped him with the door install and kept him supplied with cold Cokes.

I just ordered a new door from Lowes.   RB brand mod 700 - 16x7 w/ sunray windows on the top.   steel, insul, steel.  Not quite $1500 installed.    I couldn't get anybody at Home Depot to give me a quote on a Clopay with windows.   Their price without windows was a bit more than Lowes was for the similar door.

cool, the one company I was looking at was Martian, I think was the name and am going with out the windows and was looking at which was the best for its insulating purposes.....

What did you do to your mounting surfaces? can you take picture and post?  I don't think mine are very good either, every thing is just mounted to the rafters............

My younger brother owns a garage door business and he swears by C.H.I. Doors I think around Ohio or somewhere through there.  I have them installed on my house with super quiet belt driven openers.  Cool stull!

I priced a 10' x 10' brown metal insulated door built by amaar at lowes and it was $1500 i went with a local company same brand door, same part number, everything identical and had it installed for $850
