Well, since we know what's in there I'll lock down the poll...

That's a shame though.  I guess the water seeped in from the seam at the top and had no way to get out of there (no drain at the bottom).

That's a total bummer. :'(
You can tell by the water lines on the walls how high the water had gone...clear to the very top. That poor car will probably crumble into dust after it's dried out.

Maybe they shouldn't have planted grass over the top, eh? The sprinklers done it in. :brickwall:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

People knowledgeable about the, ahem... funeral trade, have said that what we are witnessing here was to be expected.

Hate to say it, but I thought so and voted for 'PILE OF JUNK". Looks like the soil (looks like red clay) didn't drain too well around the concrete vault and the lid wasn't keyed for a good seal. So much for 50's soil engineering...

I read a story that the Plymouth was actually 85% submerged under water when the lid was opened. That explains why they immediately got the pumps down there. Also why the walls (as shown in the pictures) are wet up to the top of the vault. Also shown is standing water on the deck lid of the car.

I think it will look like a parts car. I think I can see some gold paint.

What will become of the vault itself?   :shruggy:  Will they just fill it in?  Excavate?

Turn it into the city pool? :scratchchin:    :icon_smile_big:

You would have thought they would have put gravel under the vault and maybe some holes in it to drain? Maybe they did? They must have sold all their tickets since this footage got out. Maybe Coddington can fix it

Maybe, they will find Jimmy Hoffa under the Plymouth :eek2:

Those pictures take me back to Christmas' as a kid. You know the days. you get a ll fired up Christmas morning, shoot down the stairs. You dive into the giant pile of boxes. Find the biggest one with your name on it. You're mind is about to implode with anticipation and when you crack the box and let loose a string of expletives that would make a trucker blush. Apparently mom decided you needed a couple dozen new pairs of socks....

I feel that bummed out, and I have the sick stomach that would :eek2: :icon_smile_dissapprove: :bawling: follow a day walking around with a bar of soap in your mouth.

Ghoste

And the soap was the better part of the deal.

Mean 318

I think I am going to cry...

I don't suppose they have a yellow and blue make green seal on that ziplock bag?

Its no disgrace being poor.  Its just inconvienient.

71ChallengeHer

That really sucks. :eek2: I was hoping it was in half decent condition.

Red Ram

Very sad :'(  If you think about it...why did they have to bury it. Should have put it in a secret vault within a building or something. In 57' they probably thought 07' would be a nuclear wasteland.

The safe from the sunken Andrea Doria, Al Capones vault, & now the '57 Tulsa Plymouth.

No way it was going to be okay, but if they buried a pack of Twinkies with it, you could still eat them.  :o
