I seen on the 'net where Japanese cherry trees were blooming in New York.  Scientists are calling for the warmest year on record.  :-\

Great day to work in the garage.   Had to pull the 4 speed out of my friends 69 Judge and some other stuff.
Somehow I don't think it'll be as nice when it's time to put it back together.

it's been in the high 40's here for the past few days....still to cold for my taste :P
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

Am I the only one who is worried about this? I am wondering what kind of effects it will have on the earth. Sure I bitch(ed) about the cold, I don't like the cold you could even say I hate the cold. But it was here every year and now it's gone, and it feels like something is missing. Not if I were somewhere in the dessert, than I wouldn't think anything of it. But it is janaury and there should be cold now and ice and a bit of snow not 13 degrees celcius wet bullshit. It seems as everything is shifting when it was fall it was spring and now that it is winter it is fall. I want to know what is up.

George Bush has created global warming and we're all going to die soon.  Don't woorry about it.  Go out and have some fun while you can.     ;D

It was nice enough out yesterday in southern NJ for me to take my 69 Malibu out for a ride down to Bel Air, MD and back :).  Today I spent all day in the garage.  First I put a new starter in my 70 SS Chevelle, then I finished stripping the hood for the Charger.  After that I fixed all the rot holes, ground down the welds, and put some filler on the spots that needed it.  This weekend is exactly what I needed to keep the Charger on schedule for paint  :yesnod:

:D :D :D

So many people brought that up during the family gatherings over the holidays. I laughed every time.
I told them to watch the weather forecast a little closer next time. Specifically, the squiggly line that runs across the map from side to side.
That's the jet stream.

From Wikipedia:
"Jet streams are fast flowing, relatively narrow air currents found in the atmosphere at around 11 kilometres (36,000 ft) above the surface of the Earth, just under the tropopause. They form at the boundaries of adjacent air masses with significant differences in temperature, such as of the polar region and the warmer air to the south"

If you look close, we've been below the jet stream.
Places like Alberta and the states just below it have been above the jet stream.
Go ask them what they think of global warming.  :icon_smile_cool:

Heck, you even see that jet stream dip way down into Colorado. How's their weather been? Just a little bit of snow, huh?

Anyway, that was the jist of the discussions. it was funny to see the looks on the faces of all the University students who had been staying up nights worrying about the weather. I could sense the scrambled neurons they were dealing with because something they had developed in their minds could be explained so easily.

Now, I'm not saying that global warming isn't happening. The reality is that it's effects would not be that measurable at this point in time. The human race is not that significant in terms of environmental impact.

:iagree: We are a mere zit on the great butt of life.
It's time more people realized that. ;D

Crazy weather, I almost couldn't believe it either, but back in February of 1990 the same thing happened. My wife & I threw a party after we were settled in our house & figured on 20 or more people. They would be parking on the lawn, but it wouldn't have been a problem since the ground is usually frozen rock solid. Of course that didn't happen, it was too warm & the place thawed out from January blizzards & turned to mush. Mud everywhere, but at least we all hung out on the deck with our beer.

Now if I had waited just one week to install my lift, I wouldn't have spent $35 in Kerosene last week.  ::)

Its been in the 60's and 70's here for the past few weeks now. On the + side it has been great Charger driving weather. My grass has also started to grow and the bushes and flowers are blooming too. It is supposed to cool down after today back down to the mid 40's, but according to the Weather Channel it is gonna be 75* by Saturday. Damn George Bush and his Global Warming he created   ;D
